EL TATIO GEYSERS

"I saw that my life was a vast glowing empty page

and i could do anything I wanted."

Jack Kerouac

HELLO THERE!

"El Tatio" is a geyser field located in the Andes mountains of northern Chile at 4320 m above sea level. It is amongst the highest elevation geyser fields in the world.

El Tatio has over 80 active geysers, making it the largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere and the third in the world.

Its fumaroles create amazing white steam columns which are at their best early in the morning, so the early bird can experience an awesome spectacle of nature.

El tatio is a native south american word for "oven", and it is said that in an old lost language it means "old man who cries".

Considering that El Tatio is located in the Atacama Desert, the driest desert in the world, it is truly an unearthly and surreal nature wonder.
