The extreme conditions and the unpredictable weather of black rock city is not for the faint of heart. White outs are dust storms producing nearly zero visibility which can happen at any time, transforming the playa into a whimsical and mystical wonderland.
when first time burners arrive at burning man, the event greeters encourage them to roll in the dust as a sort of baptism and at that point, every burner realizes that the weather does not matter, it is going to be dusty so the best that one can do is to embrace the dust so that the experience can be lived to the full.
