Cairo is the capital and largest city in Egypt. The metropolitan area is the largest in the middle East. In its geographical area  are the famous "Pyramids of Gyza" and  ancient city of "Memphis" near the Delta of the Nile River.

It is often called "The city of thousand Minarets" for its predominance of Islamic architecture.

For at least 4000 years Egypt was regarded as the land where many civilizations met resulting in a considerable cultural mix.
